How Our Mosquito Treatments Work

Mosquito control isn’t simply about spraying the entire yard. Our technicians focus on the areas mosquitoes are most likely to use and look for conditions that may contribute to continued activity.

We Look for Mosquito Activity and Contributing Conditions

Our technicians evaluate the property for areas that can support mosquito activity, including shaded areas, dense foliage, damp areas, standing water, and potential breeding sites.

If we find standing water that can be removed, we’ll point it out and recommend dumping it rather than simply treating the water and leaving the condition in place.

We Treat Where Mosquitoes Spend Their Time

Mosquitoes often spend the heat of the day resting in cooler, shaded areas. Our exterior treatments focus on areas such as foliage, landscaping, shaded spaces, and other locations where mosquitoes are likely to rest during the day.

When needed, we may also use larvicide at potential breeding sites to address developing mosquitoes before they become adults.

We Return Monthly Throughout Mosquito Season

Both our Mosquito Control service and Outdoor Living Program include monthly exterior treatments from April through October, when mosquito activity is typically highest in North Texas.

Both programs also include a wintertime inspection and retreatments when needed.

The goal of mosquito treatment isn’t to promise that you’ll never see another mosquito.

Our goal is to significantly reduce mosquito activity so your outdoor spaces are enjoyable. Between treatments, especially after rain, you may still see some—but the program keeps populations low.

Mosquitoes can move between properties, and warm, humid, shaded areas will naturally continue to attract some activity. Rain can also create new breeding opportunities and temporarily increase mosquito pressure.

That’s why mosquito control works best as an ongoing seasonal program rather than a one-time treatment. Consistent monthly service allows us to continue addressing mosquito activity as conditions around your property change throughout the season.

Why Mosquito Activity Changes Throughout the North Texas Season

If your yard suddenly seems worse than it did a week ago, there may be a reason.

Warm temperatures, rainfall, humidity, shade, vegetation, and available standing water can all influence mosquito activity. After rain, even small amounts of water collecting around a property can provide potential breeding sites.

Conditions can also vary significantly from one property to another. A heavily shaded yard with dense landscaping may experience different mosquito pressure than a nearby property with more sun and less vegetation.

Our technicians look at what’s happening on your property rather than assuming every yard has the same mosquito problem.

Specialized Mosquito Control With In2Care

Some properties may benefit from an additional approach to mosquito control. In those situations, our technicians may recommend In2Care after evaluating the property.

In2Care uses stations placed in shaded areas of the yard. Mosquitoes are attracted to the stations, pick up a bioactive powder, and can carry it to breeding sites. This allows the system to target mosquitoes at another stage of their life cycle and complement traditional exterior mosquito treatments.

In2Care is a separate service and is not included with our Mosquito Control or Outdoor Living programs. We recommend it only in specific situations after evaluating the property and determining that it may be appropriate.

What Can You Do Between Mosquito Treatments?

You don’t need to spend every weekend hunting for mosquito breeding sites, but reducing easy sources of standing water can help.

A few practical steps include:

• Dump standing water after rain
• Check buckets, toys, plant saucers, and other containers that can collect water
• Keep gutters from holding water
• Avoid unnecessary overwatering
• Maintain dense vegetation where practical

If our technicians notice a condition around your property that could be contributing to mosquito activity, we’ll point it out and explain what you can do about it.
