Flea Control in North Richland Hills

Family-Owned, Locally Rooted Flea Control Since 1989

Fleas move fast, reproduce faster, and don’t limit themselves to one room or one season. In North Texas, heat and humidity keep flea populations active well beyond summer, which means an infestation you notice today can spread through carpets, bedding, and upholstery within days. Myles Pest Services has been serving North Richland Hills and the Greater Fort Worth area since 1989, providing flea control for both residential and commercial properties. We treat indoors and out, follow Integrated Pest Management (IPM) practices to select treatments that are effective while chosen with children and pets in mind, and carry full insurance on every job.

More than 35 years of continuous service to this community is paired with an educator-first approach that walks you through every finding and every treatment recommendation before work begins.

Ready to stop the infestation before it spreads further? Call (817) 402-2852 or use our online Estimate and Buy Now tool to compare plans and schedule service on your schedule.

Flea control is included as part of our recurring service plans, which are scheduled proactively to match North Texas seasonal pest patterns. You aren’t left managing reinfestation risk on your own between visits.

Our Flea Control Process

Every service begins with a thorough property inspection. Our technicians identify where flea activity is concentrated, what’s contributing to it (pet resting areas, moisture, entry points), and how severe the infestation is. Before we treat, we walk you through what we found and explain exactly what we recommend and why.

Treatment targets all active areas indoors and out. Inside, that means carpets, rugs, pet bedding, baseboards, and upholstered furniture. Outside, we focus on shaded zones, pet areas, and landscaping borders where fleas shelter between host contacts. Because effective flea control has to address the full lifecycle: egg, larva, pupa, and adult, our IPM-guided approach accounts for every stage, not just the adults you can see.

After treatment, we stay accountable. Recurring visits are scheduled to stay ahead of seasonal pressure, and free re-treats are included if activity returns before your next scheduled visit.

Signs of a Flea Infestation in Your Home

Fleas are small, but the signs they leave behind are hard to miss once you know what to look for. Pets that won’t stop scratching, biting at their fur, or showing patches of skin irritation are often the first indicator. Look for small dark specks on pet bedding or upholstered furniture. That’s flea dirt, the digested blood fleas leave behind. Family members may notice unexplained bite marks or red welts, typically around the ankles and lower legs.

If you’re seeing any of these signs, don’t wait. A single female flea can lay up to 50 eggs per day, so early action makes a real difference in how far an infestation spreads. Warm indoor temperatures allow eggs and larvae to stay active year-round in North Richland Hills homes, which means an infestation typically won’t resolve on its own without treatment that addresses the full lifecycle.

Why DIY Flea Treatments Rarely Work

Fleas develop through four distinct stages: egg, larva, pupa, and adult. Most over-the-counter sprays only affect adult fleas, which represent a small fraction of any active infestation. Eggs, larvae, and pupae remain protected in carpet fibers, furniture, and soil, completely untouched by surface sprays.

The pupal stage is especially stubborn. Flea cocoons can stay dormant for weeks, then hatch in response to warmth and vibration. That’s why a home can seem clear two or three days after a DIY treatment, then show signs of activity again within the week. Professional treatment uses insect growth regulators (IGRs), compounds that disrupt larval development and interrupt the reproductive cycle before fleas ever reach the adult stage. IGRs are typically absent from store-bought sprays, and that gap is a primary reason DIY attempts fall short.

It’s also worth noting that flea-borne health risks extend beyond the discomfort of bites. Fleas can trigger allergic dermatitis in pets and people, transmit tapeworms when an infected flea is accidentally ingested, and in rare cases carry flea-borne typhus. Prompt, complete treatment matters for the health of the whole household.

Flea Prevention Between Service Visits

Professional treatment handles what’s already there. Keeping fleas from coming back is a shared effort, and our technicians walk you through practical steps as part of every service visit.

Prevention habits that support lasting results:

  • Vacuum frequently after treatment and dispose of vacuum contents promptly to remove eggs and larvae before they develop
  • Wash pet bedding and linens regularly in hot water to eliminate eggs and larvae from resting areas
  • Keep the lawn trimmed and vegetation cut back to reduce the shaded, humid areas where fleas shelter outdoors
  • Work with your veterinarian on a year-round flea prevention plan for pets, which complements professional home treatment and is especially important given North Texas’s mild winters

Our recurring service plans are built around seasonal pest patterns in the area, providing consistent coverage that reduces reinfestation risk without you having to track it yourself.
